Wedding: Dennis & Julia

When I heard my sister's very good friends Dennis and Julia were planning their wedding I was thrilled! Dennis is a very special person to me - he was the one who believed in me when I did not even know I was going to become a professional photographer. He'd seen some of my photographs and hired me on the spot for my very first job. More than 7 years later, Dennis asked Julia to be with him for the rest of their lives and he asked me to document their very special day.
I flew to Berlin in autumn and kept my fingers and toes crossed for good weather. The wedding day turned out to be one of the most beautiful sunny autumn days this year - perfect for these two people in love.
A family heirloom handed down from grandmother, to mother and now to daughter

Julia had two outfits and two pair of shoes - one for the civil ceremony and one for the evening party

Dennis and Julia planned to have a small intimate civil ceremony with just the closest family members in the morning. But when their friends heard about it they all came down to the registry to witness these two becoming husband and wife.
On their way...

That's one happy husband

Afterwards, champagne was served in a little park nearby. Their dog Emile could not miss this moment

New family name Akar

Before the party started we went for a walk around the Tiergarten - Berlin's biggest city park. I simply loved to have so much time with the couple to shoot some great images.

The dinner party was held at the elegant Bocca Di Bacco, at the famous Friedrichstrasse.

Julia's dad's speech moved everyone to tears

Congratulations again Mr. and Mrs. Akar! So happy I was there to capture your special day!

Simple lovely yet again Jess, and the detail - exquisite. Although Maureen and George will always remain my favourite, this runs a very close second.
